A LUTA CONTINUA

A luta Continua; a vitória é certa (the struggle continues; victory is certain). Somehow this popular phrase is connected to what I want to share with you~ life after a break-up.
Once you hit puberty, it's normal to develop feelings of love/lust towards the opposite gender. However, things may not turn out as expected, especially when both of you decide to be more than just friends. Behold, I present to you the emotion that nobody would dare wish for themselves: Heartbreak 💔

   1. When It Happens + The Reaction
A short love story; You meet this guy/lady and then you get attracted to each other's. I'll call that infatuation lust at first sight. One thing leads to another and you become a cute lovey dovey couple...until the tables turn. Small arguments turn to disagreements and before you realize it, you're exhausted with the relationship until one/both of you call it quits. Whoalla!😂When it finally hits that you no longer have a 'babe' to mess around and cuddle with, what next? After break-ups, some people become bitter and 'slice' their exes via social media platforms, others become depressed, while others become besties with alcohol/marijuana for consolation.

   2. Letting Go
Rihanna once said in her Cheers drinks to that song,"Life's too short to be sitting 'round miserable." The first step to moving on is through acceptance. You'd be lying to yourself by thinking you'll move on faster after blacklisting & blocking him/her on social media. Personally it doesn't work for me😂.  How about distracting yourself from thinking about him/her by having fun? Instead of listening to Juice wrld/Adele who'll never disappoint you with their heart depressing music, listen to music that will cheer you up. Read a good book/novel, watch movies, play games and hang out with friends who'll lift up your spirits. You can as well share your thoughts and how your feeling with that human that your comfortable confiding in.
Dear you, you're too young and energetic to let a heartbreak drain you. Seize that opportunity of being single by making yourself better. If you're a student, focus on improving your grades and doing what is required with schoolwork. Are you good in singing/drawing/writing/culinary arts/dancing/sports? Why don't you work on improving that talent and use it to make some cash. Make yourself happy by treating yourself with good food, gifts, going for shopping and let it become a habit. Before you even realize it, you'll have already gotten over everything and realized you self worth.

   3. The Dont's
Number one: Getting back with your ex-; unless The Lord has other plans. Brethren, you can't go through all the pain and overcoming it, just for you to get back with your ex. That's more like taking yourself back to square one and out of experience, chances of that relationship working out are 0.000001%. You can just be friends only if you're 100% sure that your feelings for him/her have been completely terminated. I see no harm in two exes contacting each other, so long as they're both aware of the boundaries.
Number two: Getting into another relationship to prove that you've moved on. Giving that guy/chic who's been showing interest in you before, during and after you've dated a chance, is a big big mistake. The outcome of such a relationship is predictable; it never works out and either or both of you end up hurting and disappointed. So instead of spreading the heartbreak to innocent souls, work on healing yourself first. Once you've taken your time and established what you really want in a relationship, you're free to venture back into the world of dating.

As I always say, there's always someone for everyone. Am aware of that pressure to date and the need to be shown love especially during events like Valentines😩and cold seasons. It won't hurt to be single for a while, because I believe when the right time comes, true love will find you when you least expect it. Also pray for the Lord to grant you the desires of your heart and peace to your soul; He never disappoints😊. Meanwhile, I'll leave you with a quote from Eva Alordiah, "If you don't give yourself the love you deserve, how can you expect them not to love you any less?"
