HOPE FOR A BETTER TOMORROW
Helloo, @GOODVYBESWITHSHAM was on a short break but since I wanted to spice up your
quarantine season, I decided to write an article on the Covid19 epidemic. Hope you'll like it!
Don't forget to drop your comments as well as sharing if you enjoyed reading this piece.😊
At the beginning of the year, everybody was excited to start a new decade. However, it seems
like the year 2020 had other plans. Just when Kenya was on the verge of recovering from the
economic downfall that was faced in the previous year, Corona Virus happened. Let me take you
way back in January. Do you remember when the Iranian Major General Qasem Soleimani was
assassinated at Baghdad International Airport by the US government? His killing sharply
escalated tension between the US and Iran and stoked fears of a military conflict, after Iranian
leaders vowed to revenge. The #WorldWar3 trended in all social media platforms but luckily for
everyone, the war never took place. A few weeks later, a swarm of locusts attacked the Northern
parts of Kenya, travelling further into other fertile areas of the country, despite the efforts made
by the government to chase them away. As if that wasn't enough, NASA announced the
possibility of a giant asteroid which is said to be "potentially hazardous" hitting earth and
possibly causing a disaster to its occupants. NASA is the body in charge of aerospace and
civilian space program in the US.
This pandemic has led to global lockdowns of learning institutions, places of work, businesses
as well as country borders, in order to control the spread of the virus. Since prevention is better
than cure, you can control the spread and contracting the virus through observing personal
hygiene, as well as quarantining as required by the government. There is hope of overcoming
this pandemic, because despite the lost lives, a promising number of the Corona Virus victims have
recovered.
Individually, as a nation and also globally, we shall continue to acknowledge the souls that lost
their lives to the Covid19 virus, by following the set instructions by our respective governments
to curb the spread of the virus. I believe all this shall all come to pass, sooner than expected.

COVID19 is a common virus among the bats, and is said to have been transmitted to humans
through bat soup consumption, popularly among the Chinese. The 1st victim of the virus passed
it to his counterparts through body contact and before they realized it, the spread of the virus
turned out to be the current world epidemic. Another #HantaVirus which was also discovered in
China, is trending on Twitter, whereby the virus is said to be transmitted to humans through body
contact with a rodent's urine, saliva or its consumption. My dear Chinese people, seriously? Rats?! 🤦♀️🤦♀️
According to the World Health Organization's latest reports, Covid19 has so far claimed the
lives of 16,362 people globally. So far, 196 countries have been affected, having 375,498 people
tested positive for the virus. Unfortunately, Kenya is among the victims of the Corona Virus,
having recorded 28 cases so far, according to the Ministry of Health of Kenya.
